How to Care for Your Sprkly So It Lasts

Good news: taking care of your Sprkly is easy, and — dare I say it — kind of fun. There's a wire inside (flexible aluminum, not magic, despite appearances), so the rules are a little different from a regular scarf. Follow these and your mitpachat will hold its shape and its good looks for years. Treat her like a lady, and she'll return the favor.


The basic wash routine

  1. Roll her loosely, like toilet paper. Before washing, roll the Sprkly up loosely. This protects the wire and the shape.

  2. Machine wash on delicate. Cold water, low spin cycle. Gentle is the whole game here. You can use a lingerie bag if you want.

  3. Unroll and shape the wire with your fingers. Gently reshape as you unroll. And please: DON'T pull tight from either side. (Say it with me: treat her like a lady.)

  4. Lay flat to dry — and give her space. Use your preferred flat air-drying method and don't crowd her. She needs room to breathe.

  5. Iron only if you want to — medium heat, no steam. The wire holds the fabric's shape, so she dries fast and barely needs it.


A note on drying (a Be'er Sheva perk)

Because the wire keeps the fabric's shape, your Sprkly dries much faster than a floppy scarf — usually a few hours even in winter, and honestly, in a Be'er Sheva summer she's almost dry before you've finished hanging her up. ☀️


Detergent, by fabric

  • Silks and special-occasion fabrics: a delicate detergent.

  • Cottons and linens: regular detergent is just fine.


Storing her (no more pile'o'mitpachot)

Here's a bonus: because a Sprkly holds its shape, you don't end up with the classic chaotic pile of mitpachot in your closet. She stores neatly. So if you ever do find a Sprkly pile somewhere — congratulations, that was an intentional design choice, and you meant to do that. 😉
