Here's a quick intro about me and the Sprkly.

I designed the Sprkly because I have chronic Migraine Disorder and Hair covering became unsustainable.

I believe that if you can't change something, you should change the way you think about it. With the Sprkly, I did both. High volume + low tension = greater relief at the end of the day.

Maybe you cover, maybe you don't. I am not an Kisui Rosh cheerleader. But if you want to cover, or if you need options for keeping your hair off your neck with a splitting headache and other sensory concerns - I GOT you.

What is the Sprkly?

The Sprkly Mitpachat (scarf) is a hair covering that is structured with wire so that there is minimal tension on your head.

It holds its shape and keeps high or low volume without added weight. And heat.

Designed by a life long migraine sufferer who also happens to think life should be fun and beautiful and holy and a little silly sometimes.

Life is full of a lot of important things and way more unimportant things that are still important so collectively the unimportant is really quite important. cool?

When your head doesn't hurt you can think better.

The Sprkly is the Migraine friendly Kisui rosh option that is lightweight and pretty.

The NEW Sprkly was made for even LIGHTER wear for full coverage Sprkly Ladies. It also happened to be REVERSIBLE for greater flexibility of wear.

This tutorial is a long form example of one way that the Sprkly Shalem can be worn.

Today is the Tzom Tammuz - also known as the start of the three weeks before Tisha b'av.

Basically, it is a period of grieving for Jews and certain customs exist. What does this mean? Very serious things that I won't go into now.

But the most pressing and urgent for MIRIAM is no music. That means, no randomly breaking out into song and dance or pretending I'm a DJ in the hallway or adding cool songs to my reels.

There ARE some allowances: Acapella music! Now, as a former high school choir singer, I can get in on this.

Enjoy the sic Acapella beats during the next three weeks!

Not everyone can be as cool as a middle aged frum woman ironing while wearing four different shades of polka dots outside of her bathroom.

But who am I to judge?

Look, having migraine disorder makes me extra sensitive to lots of things: light, sound, touch, smell, textiles, etc and I had to make big changes to not hurt all the time.

No more concerts/nightclubs (loud + strobe lights)
No disrupted sleep (lol, I have 👶👧👦 that's just silly)
Less eating out 🍗 (low Tyromine diet)
No fancy aged cheeses 🧀
No cheap wine 🍷 ( the nice stuff is usually okay 😉)

Also, I'm pretty sure constant war for three years is a migraine attack trigger... But the jury is still out 🙄.

I avoid what I can and try to limit exposure to the rest... But that doesn't mean a lady can't dream of dancefloors and sic beats ( or whatever the kids are calling it).
